Direct flights from Palmerola to Bogota will start on October 31st 2023

Starting October 31st, 2023, Avianca has officially announced the launch of a new route that will connect Palmerola International Airport (XPL) with El Dorado Airport (BOG) in Bogota, Colombia, through direct flights. 

Context

Avianca will operate three round-trip flights a week from Palmerola International Airport to El Dorado terminal in Bogota on Airbus A320 aircraft with up to 180 passengers, thus offering more than 1,000 weekly seats. The direct flights between Palmerola and Bogota will be overnight. Flights from Bogota to Palmerola will be on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing at 9:44 pm (Colombian time) and arriving at 11:34 pm (Honduran time). Flights from Palmerola to Bogotá will be on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, departing at 1:35 am (Honduran time) and arriving at El Dorado Airport at 5:25 am (Colombian time). 

Why it matters

Bogota will be the first destination served from the Palmerola Airport to South America. Thanks to this new route, travelers going from Palmerola to Bogota will have access to over 70 destinations, as they can travel from Colombia to places in South America such as Buenos Aires, Santiago de Chile, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Lima, Montevideo, and also connections to Europe like London, Madrid, Barcelona, among others.
